FOUNDERS

Dutch Lions FC was founded in 2009 by Erik Tammer, Mike Mossel and Peter van der Molen. They were joined in the board by Warner van Hattem and partnered with Erwin Sala of Studio Erwin Sala to develop their branding strategy to start playing in 2010.

Erik Tammer is a former professional player for Premier League clubs such as AFC Ajax, SC Heerenveen and Sparta Rotterdam. One of his highlights was playing in the Dutch Cup Final with SC Heerenveen. He is currently scout for AFC Ajax.

Mike Mossel played for 2nd division clubs RBC Roosendaal (the Netherlands), KFC Turnhout (Belgium) and Cincinnati Riverhawks (USA), and graduated from Xavier University in Cincinnati (Ohio). Mike was part of the founders group of FC Cincinnati and was also a minority owner for several years. He is currently the European Scout for FC Cincinnati (MLS) and was also “Red Talent Trainer” at Royal Antwerp FC (PL) in Belgium from 2017-2023.

Peter van der Molen is an entrepeneur from the Netherlands with a background in finance and retail. He was also a representative for the Dutch government.

Both Erik and Mike attended the KNVB UEFA C and UEFA B Pro (for former professional players) coaching courses together.
