May 11, 2018 – Dayton Dutch Lions FC’s Men’s team had their first week of training and played their first pre-season game at Grandview Heights HS Stadium vs FC Columbus, the new NPSL expansion team. The Lions won 1-0 on a JJ Williams pk. They play their season opener at home next Friday May 18 vs West Virginia Chaos. The U18 Boys won the U18/U19 Gold Division of the Cincy West Soccerfest. They won the final in overtime overtime with 2-1. The U10 Boys continued their winning ways with a controlling 3-1 win over CUSA Crew. They sit on top of the league standings with a record of 4-0-1 in the Spring season. Dutch Lions FC NPSL (Houston) is playing their home opener this coming Saturday May 12 at home vs Houston Regals. The team beat the Oilers FC 6-0 in their last pre-season scrimmage. The Youth Academy try-outs for the Fall season of 2018 for players born between 2008-2001 will be next Monday to Thursday at the Houston Dutch Lions FC Soccer Facility. Cincinnati Dutch Lions FC played a “behind closed doors scrimmage” vs FC Cincinnati. The game provided the team an opportunity to use their newly branded bus for the first time this season. Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions FC’s WPSL Women’s team started their pre-season this Monday, they announced a Meet and Greet with the team on May 30 at Fathoms in Cape Coral. FC Cincinnati beat Atlanta United 2 at home at Nippert Stadium in front of 22,532 fans. The Orange and Blue made Atlanta victims of their recent surge in attacking flair in a 4-2 victory and extended the club’s winning streak to three games. With its first home win of 2018, FCC jumped into first place in the USL Eastern Conference standings. Emmanuel Ledesma scored two goals and had one assist. FCC hits the road again to face Charlotte Independence next Saturday, May 12th. They will then return to Cincinnati for midweek action in the second round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday, May 16th for a 7pm kickoff against Detroit City FC (NPSL).
