Weekly review – Houston Dutch Lions FC picks up huge win (6-2)

Weekly review May 27, 2018 – Dayton Dutch Lions FC (2-0-1) picked up two big wins this week including a 2-1 win on the road vs powerhouse Michigan Bucks and a 5-1 win at home vs Derby City Rovers (0-3-0). The win puts them in 2nd place behind Lansing United (3-0-1), but with still a game in hand. They now play away vs West Virginia (1-0-2) on Friday 7.30pm. The club also presented their new uniforms this week in partnership with Geco Sportswear and announced Corey Whisenhunt as the new Youth Academy Manager for the 2018-2019 season. Dutch Lions FC NPSL (Houston, 2-1-0) bounced back from their loss last week with a huge 6-2 win over Conference leader Fort Worth Vaqueros (3-1-0). They play Shreveport Rafters FC at home on Saturday at 7pm. Cincinnati Dutch Lions FC (0-0-2) lost at home 1-3 vs West Virginia Chaos (1-0-2). They look to bounce back on Friday when they play Derby City Rovers (0-3-0). Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions FC has two games this weekend. The 2018 season opener vs Florida Tropics SC is Saturday 4pm, on Sunday 12pm they play the 2018 Champion Tampa Bay United. On Wednesday they have a Meet and Greet with the team scheduled. FC Cincinnati (6-3-2) had a big win on Wednesday when they beat Pittsburgh Riverhounds on the road 3-1 in the third round of the US Open Cup. They play Minnesota of MLS on June 6 in the fourth round. On Saturday FC Cincinnati and Louisville City FC (7-2-1) met for the second time in the 2018 USL regular season in front of a season-high crowd of 26,495 fans at Nippert Stadium. The clash between the two rivals ended in a 0-2 loss. The highlights of the game can be seen here. The loss puts FCC in 2nd place of the Eastern Conference standings. They travel to NY this week to play NY Red Bulls II (4-2-5) on June 2 at 7pm.
