Dayton, October 24, 2018 – Dayton Dutch Lions FC currently has two teams in the Youth Academy playing in the Fall season. The U11 and U14 teams were both in third place last week in their divisions. Former Dayton Dutch Lions FC W-League player and US National Team player Rose Lavelle stopped by in Cincinnati to support FCC Cincinnati in their game in the first round of the USL PRO play-offs. Cincinnati Dutch Lions FC 2017 player Kevin Barajas gave some insight in signing his first professional contract with Atlanta United 2 in USL PRO. The interview can be seen here. Houston Dutch Lions FC announced their annual “Thanksgiving Soccer Camp” on November 19 and 20 at the Houston Dutch Lions FC Soccer Complex. The Youth Academy of Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions FC has had some success early in the 2018-2019 season with several teams winning tournament trophies. Seven teams played in Apopka two weeks ago, six made it to the finals with four teams winning their final. This weekend the U14G won the Naples Soccer Classic after a 2-0 win over Sarasota U14G while the U15G team won the Fort Myers Classic after a great 2-0 win over Florida Fire in the final. The U12G team was undefeated for 14 games until this weekend, they (and the U13G team) won back to back tournaments before that. Since 2017 seven teams have been ranked in the top 50 in the State of Florida. Currently two teams are ranked in the top 25. Besides growth and success in their Youth Academy, the Lions Club (U5) – that was started last year – has grown to 32 players today. The club also renewed their partnership with Tina Kaiser to focus on condition, strength, agility, coordination and speed of the Academy en WPSL team players. FC Cincinnati won the first game in the USL PRO play-offs after a thriling match. As #1 seed they played #8 seed Nashville SC at home on Saturday at Nippert Stadium in front of 20,127 fans. The three regular season games between the three teams all ended in ties. Corben Bone scored the 1-0 in extra time in the 95th minute after an assist from Kenney Walker, but 5 minutes before the end of the game Nashville SC tied the game 1-1. Both teams scored the initial 5 pk’s, but after Justin Davis sent the ball over the net for Nashville SC, FCC’s Kenney Walker stepped up and converted his attempt to secure a place in the next found for FC Cincinnati. The team of Alan Koch and Yoann Damet now faces New York Red Bulls II at home again on Saturday 4pm EST time. A win will secure a spot in the Eastern Conference Play-Off Final. The winner of that game will play the winner of the Western Conference fort he USL CUP. Highlights of the game can be seen here.
