Weekly review – Cincinnati Dutch Lions FC picks up first win

Weekly review June 14, 2018 – Dayton Dutch Lions FC (4-1-1) played Lansing United (4-0-3) for first place in the Great Lakes Conference and was leading 1-0 until the 70th minute. But Lansing scored three goals handing the Lions their first loss of the season and putting the team back in 2nd place. They play Michigan Bucks (1-2-2) again tonight. Dutch Lions FC NPSL (Houston, 3-2-0) also battled for first place in the Lone Star Conference in a match vs Laredo Heat (5-0-0). The Heat won 2-0 putting the Lions back in fourth place. They play nr. 3 Brownsville (4-2-0) on Saturday in a crucial game towards the play-offs. Cincinnati Dutch Lions FC (1-2-2) picked up their first win of the season in a record setting 6-0 win vs Derby City Rovers (0-6-1). Max Wilschrey scored one goal and had three assists to earn him a spot on the Central Conference Team of the Week.They are back in action on Saturday June 16 in Charleston, West Virginia aiming to extend their three-game unbeaten streak as they will play West Virginia Chaos (2-1-4). Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions FC’s Women’s team (2-1-0) picked up three points on the road beating Florida Krush (0-2-1). They are now in 2nd position and play Boca Blast (0-0-1) at home on Sunday 2pm. FC Cincinnati (8-3-2) advanced to 6-1-1 on the road by beating North Carolina FC (3-6-2) 2-0. They are currently in first place three points ahead of Louisville City FC (7-2-2) but they have two more games in hand. They face Bethlehem Steel (5-3-3) tonight at Nippert Stadium.
